Heyworth High School – Heyworth, IL
Heyworth High School's Backyard Geology Report
Chris (teacher): I have been teaching science for seven years, five of
them in Heyworth, IL. I have lived in many places including Pittsburgh,
PA and Riga, Latvia. In August of 2003 I graduated from the University
of North Dakota with an MS in Space Studies. I am very excited about
this opportunity to share my passion for science and space exploration
with my students.
Ashley (student): I am a 16 year old sophomore at Heyworth High School,
and I enjoy the outdoors, listening to music, shopping. I am interested
in the ASIP program, because I would like to find out new things about
Mars, and outside of Earth.
Sarah (student): As a sophomore in high school, my interests continually
grow and change. One thing that has never changed about me is my love
for science. Ever since I was a little girl I have done nothing but
wonder what was on the other side of the stars at night. Weird questions
like that have fascinated me my whole life and there is only one way to
find out, and that is through science. I have also always had this
amazing love to learn. Well, in some classes any ways. The reason I want
to be a part of this program is because this is a once in a life time
opportunity and I will never have this chance again in my whole life.
For any one to pass this opportunity up should be committed.
